For most bicycles all that is required to fit these baskets is the leather straps included, this is all that is used in fitting these to bikes used by my family and friends. Sometimes the traditional way is the best, you don't need complicated brackets or racks.
I've fitted these both to upright "north road" type bars like those shown in the pictures below and also to standard hybrid or mountain bike bars also shown. The position of the straps can be changed to suit the handlebar. See our Fitting Page for more advice.
The baskets are supplied with a light varnish as standard but if the bicycle is kept out doors or likely to regularly cope with very wet weather I can treat them with a heavier varnish prior to shipping if requested.
